It is permissible to authorize the purchase and slaughter of a sacrificial animal, and there is no religious objection to a Muslim entrusting a trusted organization to handle it. The donor can pay the cost of the sacrifice for the organization to purchase and slaughter the animal, even abroad, especially if the animals are cheaper there, provided the following conditions are observed: The sacrifice is performed on the day of Eid al-Adha or during the three days of Tashreeq following Eid. The minimum age of the sacrificial animals: Camels: 5 years Cattle and goats: 2 years Sheep: 6 months (if it resembles a one-year-old) The animal must be free of defects that reduce the quality or appearance of the meat; for example, a blind or crippled animal cannot be sacrificed.
